Struck in 90 percent silver at the historic New Orleans Mint, this 1898 ten-cent piece represents a classic era of American coinage. The coin contains 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal and displays the distinctive characteristics of the long-running Barber series, named after its creator, Charles Barber. The obverse design presents a profile of Lady Liberty. She is depicted wearing a traditional Phrygian cap, which is adorned with a laurel wreath. Surrounding her portrait, the inscription reads UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, with the year 1898 positioned at the bottom. On the reverse, the coin features a detailed wreath that encircles the face value, ONE DIME. This particular specimen has been preserved in Good condition, showing the honest wear of a coin that circulated during the turn of the twentieth century.
