Struck in 90% fine silver at the San Francisco Mint, this 1899 Barber quarter dollar offers a tangible connection to late nineteenth-century American coinage. Even in its heavily circulated Almost Good condition, the classic design elements remain recognizable, carrying the unmistakable character of a coin that spent years passing through the hands of everyday citizens. The obverse of the coin presents the profile of Lady Liberty, styled by designer Charles Barber. She wears a traditional Phrygian cap paired with a laurel wreath, a classic representation of freedom and victory. Above her head, the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed, while the year 1899 is anchored at the bottom. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle spreads its wings wide, protecting a shield positioned on its chest.
