1900 Barber Quarter AU

In 1900, the Philadelphia Mint produced this silver quarter dollar, a beautiful survivor from the turn of the twentieth century. Struck with a silver purity of 90 percent, this coin contains 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal. Preserved in Almost Uncirculated condition, it retains much of the original detail that makes this era of United States coinage so visually compelling. The obverse side presents a dignified profile of Lady Liberty, styled by designer Charles Barber. She wears a classic Phrygian cap combined with a laurel wreath, a design elements that defined American coinage of the period. The word LIBERTY is clearly visible on her band, while the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST arches above her head, flanked by the date 1900 at the bottom. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle dominates the design. The eagle stands with wings spread wide, protecting a shield on its chest. In its talons, it grips both an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, representing peace and readiness. A banner held in its beak displays the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, surrounded by the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination, QUARTER DOLLAR.
