1900 Barber Quarter Good/VG
The turn of the twentieth century brought with it a beautifully crafted silver quarter, designed by Charles Barber. Struck in 1900 at the Philadelphia Mint, this twenty-five cent piece contains 0.17875 troy ounces of silver, with a composition that is 90 percent pure. On the obverse side, the profile of Lady Liberty faces right, adorned with a laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap. The motto IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed above her head, with the year 1900 anchored at the bottom. The reverse side presents a powerful heraldic eagle with wings fully spread. A shield protects its chest, while its beak clasps a ribbon. In its talons, the eagle grips both a bundle of arrows and an olive branch, embodying a classic balance of strength and peace. The surrounding inscriptions clearly mark the issuing nation as the United States of America alongside the denomination, QUARTER DOLLAR.
