1900-O Barber Half Dollar Good

0.3575 troy oz .900 1900 Good

Struck in 90 percent pure silver at the historic New Orleans Mint, this 1900 half dollar represents a bygone era of American coinage. As a well-traveled survivor from the turn of the twentieth century, the coin shows honest wear on its details and along its rim, telling a story of decades in active circulation. It contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse side, designed by Charles Barber, displays the profile of Lady Liberty. She is depicted wearing a traditional Phrygian cap adorned with a laurel wreath, accompanied by the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the 1900 date. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle spreads its wings to support a shield against its chest. In its beak, the eagle grasps a banner, while its talons hold a defensive cluster of arrows and a peaceful olive branch. The distinctive "O" mint mark of the New Orleans facility is located beneath the eagle, marking its origin at one of the nation's most famous southern minting locations.
