1900-O Barber Quarter VG
Struck at the historic New Orleans Mint, this 1900 silver quarter represents a classic era of American coinage. Crafted from 90 percent silver, the coin contains approximately 0.1808 troy ounces of precious metal. It carries a Very Good grade, showing the honest wear of a coin that circulated at the turn of the twentieth century. The obverse presents a profile of Lady Liberty, who wears a laurel wreath atop her head along with a Phrygian cap. Above her head, the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed, with the year 1900 positioned at the bottom of the design. This side was created by Charles Barber, whose artistic influence defined the look of multiple denominations during this period. On the reverse, Barber placed a heraldic eagle with its wings spread wide. The eagle supports a shield on its chest while grasping a banner in its beak. In its talons, the bird holds both a cluster of arrows and an olive branch, representing the dual themes of strength and peace. The legend "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" surrounds the central design, with the "QUARTER DOLLAR" denomination anchored below.
