1900-S Barber Dime Good/VG

0.0715 troy oz .900 1900 Good/Very Good

Struck at the San Francisco Mint at the turn of the twentieth century, this ten-cent piece represents a classic era of American coinage. Composed of 90% silver with a metal weight of 0.0715 troy ounces, the coin showcases the artistry of Charles Barber, whose work defined the look of United States silver currency during this period. The obverse presents a profile of Lady Liberty, who wears a laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap. On specimens in this worn condition, the inscription of her name is no longer visible, though the outer rim remains complete. Surrounding her portrait are the words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" alongside the 1900 date. On the reverse, the face value of "ONE DIME" is encircled by a traditional agricultural wreath. The "S" mint mark of the San Francisco facility is positioned at the bottom of the design, below the wreath. Depending on the individual coin, the outer rim on this reverse side may show signs of slight weakness, reflecting its long journey through circulation.
