1901-O Barber Dime Good/VG

0.0715 troy oz .900 1901 Good/Very Good

Struck at the historic New Orleans Mint, this 1901 silver dime belongs to the celebrated Barber series. Composed of 90 percent silver, this ten-cent piece contains 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. It represents an era of daily commerce from the turn of the twentieth century, carrying the distinct 'O' mint mark of the southern branch mint. The obverse features Charles Barber's depiction of Lady Liberty, who wears a laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap. On examples in this circulated, Good to Very Good condition, the rim remains complete, though the specific inscription of 'Liberty' on her band is no longer visible. The reverse presents a detailed agricultural wreath that frames the face value of the coin. While the reverse rim may show slight weakness from decades of handling, the central denomination of 'ONE DIME' remains a clear testament to its past utility in American pockets.
