0.1788 troy oz .900 1901 Extra Fine

The 1901 silver quarter dollar bearing the New Orleans mint mark represents a classic era of United States coinage. This twenty-five cent piece, composed of 90 percent silver with a metal content of 0.1788 troy ounces, showcases the engraving work of Charles Barber. The coin survives in Extra Fine condition, preserving the distinct details of its turn-of-the-century design. On the obverse, Liberty is depicted facing right, adorned with a Phrygian cap and a laurel wreath. The motto IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed above her, with the year 1901 anchored at the bottom. The reverse displays a heraldic eagle with outstretched wings, holding a shield on its chest. In its talons, the eagle grasps an olive branch and a cluster of arrows, while a banner reading E PLURIBUS UNUM is held in its beak. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination QUARTER DOLLAR encircle the reverse design, which also features the O mint mark indicating its origin at the New Orleans Mint.
