This 1901 half dollar, minted at the San Francisco facility, offers a tangible look at a heavily circulated silver coin from the turn of the twentieth century. Struck in 90 percent silver with a precious metal weight of 0.3575 troy ounces, this piece belongs to the beloved Barber series. Even in its worn, Fair condition, the coin retains the unmistakable presence of a bygone era of American currency. Created by Charles Barber, the design presents a distinct artistic vision on each side. The obverse features a profile of Lady Liberty, who wears a laurel wreath atop a Phrygian cap, accompanied by the legible motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the 1901 year of issue. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle spreads its wings, protecting a shield on its chest while grasping a banner in its beak. In its talons, the eagle holds both an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, completing a classic symbolic arrangement.
