The 1902 Barber dime offers a captivating glimpse into early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck in 90 percent silver with a metal weight of 0.0715 troy ounces, this ten-cent piece survives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the crisp details of its original engraving just as it emerged from the Philadelphia Mint over a century ago. Designed by Charles Barber, the obverse of the coin presents a classic profile of Lady Liberty. She is depicted wearing a traditional Phrygian cap adorned with a laurel wreath, a symbol of victory and honor. A ribbon across her crown displays the word LIBERTY, while the year 1902 is anchored at the bottom of the design. The reverse side of the coin focuses on a lush wreath that frames the denomination, ONE DIME. Because this specimen was minted at the main United States Mint facility in Philadelphia, it does not display a mint mark, leaving the clean fields of the design uninterrupted for observers to appreciate.
