The year 1902 brought forth this silver quarter, a twenty-five cent denomination from the United States. Struck in 90 percent fine silver, this coin represents a classic era of American coinage. The piece contains approximately 0.17875 troy ounces of silver and is graded in Fine condition, showing the honest wear of a coin that once circulated actively in daily commerce. Designed by Charles Barber, the obverse of the quarter presents a profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a traditional Phrygian cap adorned with a laurel wreath, a classic symbol of victory and freedom. The word LIBERTY is clearly inscribed upon her headband, while the motto IN GOD WE TRUST appears above her, with the year 1902 anchored at the bottom. The reverse of the coin features a detailed heraldic eagle with its wings spread wide. A protective shield is positioned across the chest of the eagle, which grasps an olive branch of peace in one talon and a bundle of arrows in the other, symbolizing readiness. In its beak, the eagle holds a banner, while the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and QUARTER DOLLAR frame the powerful central design.
