1902-O Barber Dime AG

0.0715 troy oz .900 1902 Almost Good

The 1902 Barber Dime struck at the New Orleans Mint offers a tangible connection to turn-of-the-century American commerce. Minted with a silver purity of 0.900, this coin contains 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. As an Almost Good specimen, it displays the heavy wear of a coin that spent decades changing hands, giving it a unique, soft character where some of the finer details have gently blended into the fields. Created by designer Charles Barber, the obverse features the profile of Lady Liberty adorned with a laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap. On a coin in this circulated condition, the word "Liberty" is no longer visible on her headband, and the outer rim may appear weak or partially merged with the design. The reverse displays a lush agricultural wreath that frames the face value. Like the front, the reverse rim may show signs of softness and wear, yet the central inscription of "ONE DIME" remains recognizable as a testament to its long-lost days in active circulation.
