1902-S Barber Dime Good

0.0715 troy oz .900 1902 Good

Struck at the San Francisco Mint in 1902, this ten-cent silver piece belongs to the beloved Barber series. Composed of 90 percent silver with a metal content of 0.0715 troy ounces, this coin carries the marks of its long journey through American commerce, showing the honest wear typical of a Good grade. The obverse presents the profile of Lady Liberty, depicted with a laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap. On specimens in this worn condition, the word "Liberty" is no longer visible, though the rim remains complete. Surrounding the central image is the legend "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" along with the 1902 year of issue. On the reverse, a detailed agricultural wreath encircles the denomination "ONE DIME." Beneath the wreath, the small "S" mint mark indicates its origin at the San Francisco facility. The reverse rim on these well-circulated examples may appear slightly weak, reflecting the decades this coin spent in circulation.
