1902-S Barber Dime VG

0.0715 troy oz .900 1902 Very Good

Struck at the San Francisco Mint at the turn of the twentieth century, this 1902 silver dime represents a classic era of United States coinage. Composed of 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. It stands as a tangible survivor from the long-running Barber series, named after its creator, Charles Barber. The obverse of this ten-cent piece showcases Lady Liberty facing right, adorned in a Phrygian cap and a laurel wreath. On this circulated specimen, graded in Very Good condition, a portion of the word "Liberty" remains visible on her headband, surrounded by the year 1902. The reverse side features a traditional agricultural wreath that frames the central denomination, "ONE DIME," with the distinct "S" mint mark of the San Francisco facility resting below.
