1903 Barber Quarter Good/VG

0.1788 troy oz .900 1903 Good/Very Good

Struck in 1903 at the Philadelphia Mint, this silver quarter dollar represents a classic era of American coinage. Composed of 90 percent silver, the coin contains approximately 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal. It circulates today as a tangible relic of the early twentieth century, carrying the wear and character of its time in commerce, graded in Good to Very Good condition. The coin features the artistic vision of Charles Barber. On the obverse, Lady Liberty is depicted facing right, wearing a laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap, a traditional symbol of freedom. The motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is positioned above her, with the year 1903 stamped below. The reverse displays a heraldic eagle with wings spread wide. A protective shield rests upon the eagle's chest, while its beak holds a banner. In its talons, the eagle grasps an olive branch and a cluster of arrows, representing the dual concepts of peace and defense. The inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "QUARTER DOLLAR" frame this national symbol.
