This 1903 half dollar represents a fascinating era of United States coinage, struck at the San Francisco Mint at the start of the twentieth century. Composed of 90 percent silver with a metal content of 0.3575 troy ounces, the coin has survived in an Almost Good state of preservation. This wear reflects its extensive journey through daily commerce, softening the details of its classical design while preserving its historical character. The obverse displays Charles Barber's depiction of Lady Liberty, who wears a laurel wreath atop her head along with a traditional Phrygian cap.
