1904 Barber Half Dollar VG

0.3575 troy oz .900 1904 Very Good

Struck in 1904, this United States half dollar represents a classic era of American silver coinage. The coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.3617 ounces of the precious metal. It carries a face value of 50 cents and is preserved in Very Good condition, showing honest wear from its time in circulation over a century ago. The design is the work of Charles Barber. On the obverse, a proud representation of Lady Liberty faces right, wearing a traditional Phrygian cap and a laurel wreath. The motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed above her, with the year 1904 anchored at the bottom. The reverse displays a powerful heraldic eagle with its wings spread wide. A protective shield rests upon its chest, while the bird holds a banner in its beak. In its talons, the eagle grasps both an olive branch and a cluster of arrows, symbolizing peace and readiness. The surrounding inscription reads "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" alongside the denomination.
