1904 Barber Half Dollar XF

0.3575 troy oz .900 1904 Extra Fine

The 1904 Barber Half Dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage, minted in Philadelphia with a total production of 2,992,000 pieces. Struck from 90 percent silver, this fifty cent piece contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. Surviving in Extra Fine condition, this coin retains the sharp details of its original, intricate engraving. Designed by Charles Barber, the obverse side presents a dignified profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a laurel wreath atop her head, secured over a Phrygian cap, surrounded by the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the year 1904. The reverse side displays a powerful heraldic eagle with wings spread wide, protecting a shield on its chest. In its beak, the eagle holds a ribbon inscribed with "E PLURIBUS UNUM", while its talons grasp both an olive branch of peace and a cluster of arrows, symbolizing strength. The legend "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the denomination "HALF DOLLAR" frame this classic design.
