Struck in 90% silver, this 1904 half dollar represents a fascinating era of United States coinage. Minted in New Orleans, as indicated by the 'O' mint mark, the coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. It stands as a tangible example of late nineteenth and early twentieth century American currency, surviving in an Almost Good state of preservation. The coin features the artistic work of Charles Barber. On the obverse, a profile of Lady Liberty faces right, wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with a laurel wreath.
