Struck in 90 percent silver, this 1904 half dollar represents the artistry of the United States Mint at the turn of the twentieth century. Produced at the historic New Orleans facility, as indicated by the O mint mark, the coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. It remains a tangible survivor of America's pre-1933 coinage era, preserved in a circulated, Very Good condition. The obverse presents a profile of Lady Liberty, who wears a laurel wreath atop her head along with a Phrygian cap. The year 1904 is inscribed below her portrait, while the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST," is positioned above. This design, created by Charles Barber, offers a classic representation of early twentieth-century American iconography. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle dominates the field with its wings spread wide. A protective shield rests against its chest. In its beak, the eagle holds a ribbon inscribed with "E PLURIBUS UNUM," while its talons grasp an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, representing peace and readiness. The surrounding text identifies the nation as the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and denotes the face value as HALF DOLLAR.
