1905 Barber Dime AU
The year 1905 brought forth a classic piece of American silver coinage in the form of this ten cent piece, designed by the celebrated engraver Charles Barber. Struck from 90 percent pure silver, this dime showcases the intricate artistry that defined United States currency at the turn of the twentieth century. On the obverse side, the profile of Lady Liberty is rendered with great care, wearing a Phrygian cap and a laurel wreath. A close look reveals the word LIBERTY clearly displayed across her headband. Surrounding this central image is the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, along with the date 1905 positioned at the bottom of the coin. The reverse of the coin is dedicated to a bold display of its face value, reading ONE DIME. This text is encircled by a detailed wreath that frames the denomination, creating a balanced and traditional aesthetic. This particular specimen survives in Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving the fine lines and textures of the original design for modern observers to appreciate.
