1905-S Barber Half Dollar AG

0.3575 troy oz .900 1905 Almost Good

Struck in 90% fine silver, this 1905 half dollar from the San Francisco Mint represents a classic era of United States coinage. Even in a heavily circulated, Almost Good condition, the coin retains the unmistakable outlines of Charles Barber's iconic late nineteenth-century design. The piece contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal, carrying the physical weight of the early twentieth century within its silver alloy. The obverse features the profile of Lady Liberty, who wears a laurel wreath atop her head along with a Phrygian cap. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle spreads its wings wide, protecting a shield positioned at its chest. In its beak, the eagle grasps a banner, while its talons hold both an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, symbolizing the dual themes of peace and military readiness.
