1906-D Barber Half Dollar Fine

In 1906, the Denver Mint struck this silver half dollar, which carries a metal composition of 90 percent silver, amounting to 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. This coin represents the Barber design series, named after its creator, Charles Barber. It survives today in Fine condition, showing honest wear from its time in circulation during the early twentieth century while retaining its key design details. The obverse side presents a dignified profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a laurel wreath over a Phrygian cap, with the word LIBERTY clearly legible on her headband. Surrounding her portrait is the motto IN GOD WE TRUST, with the year 1906 anchored at the bottom. On the reverse, a bold heraldic eagle dominates the design. The eagle holds a scroll in its beak inscribed with E PLURIBUS UNUM, while its chest is protected by a striped shield. In its talons, the eagle grasps both an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, representing the dual themes of peace and readiness. The Denver mint mark, a letter D, is positioned below the eagle, just above the denomination of HALF DOLLAR.
