1906-D Barber Half Dollar Good

0.3575 troy oz .900 1906 Good

Introduced in the early twentieth century, this 1906 silver half dollar represents a bygone era of American coinage. Minted at the Denver facility, which is noted by the D mint mark, this fifty-cent piece is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.3575 troy ounces of the precious metal. The obverse of the coin displays a profile of Lady Liberty. She is depicted wearing a laurel wreath atop a Phrygian cap, with the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" positioned above her head and the year 1906 struck at the bottom. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle stretches its wings, bearing a protective shield on its chest. In its beak, the eagle holds a banner, while its talons grasp both an olive branch and a bundle of arrows. The surrounding inscription reads "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "HALF DOLLAR". Having circulated through daily commerce over a century ago, this coin exhibits honest wear, with softened details and a slightly worn rim that tell the story of its long journey through time.
