0.3575 troy oz .900 1906 Very Good

In 1906, the Denver Mint produced this silver half dollar, which contains 0.3575 troy ounces of 90 percent pure silver. This coin represents the celebrated Barber series, showcasing the unified artistic vision of its creator, Charles Barber, across both faces of the metal. The front of the coin displays the profile of Lady Liberty, who wears a laurel wreath atop her head along with a Phrygian cap. On this specific piece, graded in Very Good condition, the inscription of the word Liberty on her headband remains partially visible to the observer. The year 1906 is anchored at the bottom, beneath the portrait. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle dominates the design with its wings stretched wide. A protective shield covers the bird's chest, while its beak firmly grasps a decorative banner. In its talons, the eagle clutches a traditional olive branch alongside a cluster of arrows, symbolizing both peace and readiness. The Denver mint mark, a letter D, is positioned below the eagle to denote its Colorado origin.
