1906-O Barber Dime AG

0.0715 troy oz .900 1906 Almost Good

This ten-cent piece, struck in 1906, represents a fascinating era of United States coinage. Minted in New Orleans, as indicated by its 'O' mint mark, the coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.0715 troy ounces of the precious metal. Even with the wear of time, which may show as a softened rim on both the front and back, the coin retains the unmistakable character of its era. The obverse features a profile of Lady Liberty. She is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap and a laurel wreath, surrounded by the country of issue. On the reverse, a detailed wreath encircles the face value of the coin, which is inscribed as 'ONE DIME'. Created by designer Charles Barber, this design remains a classic representation of early twentieth-century American currency.
