Struck in the early twentieth century, this 1907 silver half dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. Minted at the historic New Orleans facility, as indicated by its "O" mint mark, the coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.3575 troy ounces of the precious metal. It has survived the decades in an exceptionally well-preserved state, graded as Almost Uncirculated. The obverse of the coin presents a profile of Lady Liberty. She is depicted wearing a laurel wreath over a Phrygian cap, a traditional symbol of freedom. The word "LIBERTY" is visible on her band, while the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" arches above her head, with the year of minting, 1907, anchored at the bottom. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle commands attention with its wings spread wide. A protective shield is positioned across the bird's chest. In its beak, the eagle holds a ribbon inscribed with the Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM." Its talons grasp both an olive branch, symbolizing peace, and a bundle of arrows, representing strength and readiness. This intricate design is framed by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the face value, "HALF DOLLAR."
