1907-S Barber Half Dollar Good
Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this 1907 half dollar belongs to the celebrated Barber series. Composed of 90% silver with a total precious metal content of 0.3575 troy ounces, this fifty-cent piece shows the honest wear of a coin that circulated heavily during the early twentieth century. The details on both sides are softened, and the outer rim may show slight wear, reflecting its graded condition of Good. The obverse features Charles Barber's depiction of Lady Liberty, who wears a laurel wreath atop her head along with a Phrygian cap. The motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is positioned above her portrait, with the date 1907 stamped below. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle stretches its wings with a protective shield resting on its chest. In its beak, the eagle holds a banner, while its talons grasp an olive branch and a bundle of arrows. The mint mark "S" is visible below the eagle, indicating its origin in San Francisco, alongside the denomination "HALF DOLLAR" and the country name "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA".
