The obverse displays a dignified profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a traditional Phrygian cap paired with a laurel wreath, surrounded by the stars of the original colonies and the date 1908. Above her head, the national motto reads IN GOD WE TRUST. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle commands attention with its wings spread wide. A protective shield sits across its chest, while its beak holds a ribbon bearing the words E PLURIBUS UNUM. In its talons, the eagle grasps both an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, representing the dual ideals of peace and strength. The mint mark D is positioned below the eagle, indicating its origin at the Denver facility.
