The year 1908 saw the Denver Mint strike this silver quarter, a tangible survivor from the early twentieth century. Minted with a silver purity of 90 percent, this coin contains 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal. Having circulated through daily commerce, this piece is preserved in Good to Very Good condition, showing the honest wear of an era when these coins were the workhorses of the American economy. Designed by Charles Barber, the obverse features a classical profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a traditional Phrygian cap paired with a laurel wreath, surrounded by the stars of the original colonies and the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" above her. The year 1908 is anchored at the bottom of the design. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle dominates the field. The eagle holds its wings outstretched with a protective shield over its chest. In its beak, it grasps a ribbon, while its talons clutch an olive branch of peace and a bundle of arrows symbolizing strength. The Denver "D" mint mark is positioned below the eagle, marking its origin at the historic Colorado facility.
