0.1788 troy oz .900 1908 Very Fine

The 1908 silver quarter from the Denver Mint represents a classic era of United States coinage. Struck with a purity of 90 percent silver, this piece contains 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal. It survives today in Very Fine condition, showing the clear details of a design that circulated widely during the early twentieth century. On the obverse, Charles Barber's depiction of Lady Liberty faces right, adorned with a laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap. The word LIBERTY is visible on her band, surrounded by the motto IN GOD WE TRUST and the 1908 year of issue. The reverse features a heraldic eagle with spread wings, protecting a shield on its chest. In its talons, the eagle grasps an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, representing peace and readiness. A ribbon held in its beak displays the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, while the Denver mint mark, a small D, is positioned below the eagle to denote its origin.
