Struck in the early twentieth century, this 1908 silver half dollar represents a bygone era of United States coinage. Minted in New Orleans, as indicated by the distinct 'O' mint mark, this fifty-cent piece is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.3575 troy ounces of the precious metal. It survives in Extra Fine condition, showcasing a level of detail that speaks to its limited time in active circulation. The obverse of the coin displays a profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a Phrygian cap adorned with a laurel wreath, surrounded by thirteen stars. The motto 'IN GOD WE TRUST' is inscribed along the upper rim, with the year 1908 anchored at the bottom.
