1909-D Barber Dime Fine

In 1909, the Denver Mint struck this ten-cent piece, a classic representative of the Barber coinage era. Composed of 90% silver with a precious metal content of 0.0715 troy ounces, this United States dime has survived more than a century, retaining enough detail to be classified in Fine condition. The obverse presents a profile of Lady Liberty. She is depicted facing right, wearing a laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap, a traditional symbol of freedom. The legend "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" surrounds her portrait, alongside the date of manufacture. On the reverse, the coin features a prominent agricultural wreath that encircles the face value of "ONE DIME". The Denver Mint's presence is noted by the "D" mint mark, indicating its origin at the Colorado facility. This design, created by Charles Barber, offers a fascinating look into early twentieth-century American coinage.
