1909-D Barber Dime VF
The 1909-D Barber dime offers a fascinating glimpse into early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck at the Denver Mint, this ten-cent piece is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. In Very Fine condition, the coin retains much of its original detail, allowing observers to appreciate the artistry of its era. The obverse side presents a classic profile of Lady Liberty, who wears a Phrygian cap adorned with a laurel wreath. The word LIBERTY is visible on her headband, flanked by the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the 1909 year of issue. On the reverse, the coin features a prominent wreath that encircles the denomination, ONE DIME. A small 'D' mint mark is located below the wreath, indicating its origin from the Denver facility. Designed by Charles Barber, this series remains a celebrated example of United States coinage from the pre-1933 era.
