1909-S Barber Quarter Good

0.1788 troy oz .900 1909 Good

The 1909 silver quarter from the San Francisco Mint represents a classic era of United States coinage. Struck in 90% fine silver, this piece contains approximately 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal. It carries the distinctive artistry of Charles Barber, whose work defined the look of America's minor silver denominations at the turn of the twentieth century. The obverse of this twenty-five cent piece presents a profile of Lady Liberty. She is depicted wearing a traditional Phrygian cap underneath a laurel wreath, a classic symbol of freedom and victory. Above her head, the national motto reads IN GOD WE TRUST, while the year 1909 is positioned at the bottom of the design. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle stretches its wings wide, protecting a shield positioned across its chest. In its beak, the eagle holds a banner, while its talons grasp an olive branch of peace and a cluster of arrows representing strength. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination QUARTER DOLLAR frame this powerful national symbol.
