Struck in the early twentieth century at the Denver Mint, this 1910 silver dime represents a classic era of United States coinage. Crafted from 90% silver, the ten-cent piece contains 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. It features the artistic work of Charles Barber, whose designs defined American circulating coinage at the turn of the century. The obverse of the coin displays a profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a traditional laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap, a symbol of freedom. On examples in Good to Very Good condition, the rim of the coin might appear slightly weak, and the word Liberty inscribed on her crown is no longer visible. Surrounding her portrait are the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the 1910 year of issue. On the reverse, a delicate agricultural wreath encircles the denomination, which is written simply as ONE DIME. At the very bottom of the design, the D mint mark indicates this particular coin was struck at the Denver facility, making it a tangible piece of Western minting history.
