Minted in the early twentieth century, this 1910 silver quarter dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. Struck at the Denver Mint, the coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal. Having survived more than a century in an Almost Uncirculated state, it retains much of the crisp detail from its original production. The obverse of the coin presents a profile of Lady Liberty. She is depicted wearing a traditional Phrygian cap adorned with a laurel wreath, a design conceived by Charles Barber. The year of issue, 1910, is stamped clearly below her portrait, while the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed along the upper rim. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle dominates the design. The bird is shown with its wings fully spread, protecting a shield across its chest. In its beak, the eagle holds a banner displaying the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM". Its talons grip an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, representing both peace and defense. The Denver "D" mint mark is located beneath the eagle, identifying its origin at the Colorado facility.
