In 1910, Mexico issued a silver coin that would become one of the most celebrated designs in its numismatic history. Commonly known as the Caballito, this one-peso coin contains 0.7859 ounces of silver with a purity of 0.903. Though it was widely circulated during its brief time in use, the coin remains highly regarded for its artistic merit. The design was originally created by Charles Pillet, with later adjustments made by Charles Barber, resulting in a striking piece of art that represents a specific era in Mexican coinage. The obverse of the coin displays the traditional Mexican coat of arms, showing a golden eagle perched on a cactus while devouring a snake. Below this central image, the denomination is clearly marked. The inscriptions on the coin include "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS" and "UN PESO", confirming its origin and value. On the reverse, a dynamic depiction of Liberty rides a horse, holding a torch and a laurel branch against the backdrop of a rising sun. The year 1910 is inscribed at the bottom.
