1910-S Barber Dime AU

0.0715 troy oz .900 1910 Almost Unc

The 1910-S Barber dime represents a fascinating moment in early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this ten-cent piece is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.0715 troy ounces of the precious metal. Surviving in Almost Uncirculated condition, it retains much of the original detail that emerged from the coining press over a century ago. Designed by Chief Engraver Charles Barber, the obverse of the coin presents a classical depiction of Lady Liberty. Her head is turned to the right, adorned with a Phrygian cap and a stylized laurel wreath. The design is framed by the national origin and the production year of 1910. The reverse of the coin features a traditional agricultural wreath that encircles the denomination, which is spelled out clearly as ONE DIME. This elegant combination of Liberty and the wreath defined the look of America's minor silver coinage for a generation.
