1911 Barber Quarter BU

The year 1911 saw the production of 3,720,000 silver quarter dollars at the Philadelphia Mint. This specimen survives in brilliant uncirculated condition, preserving the crisp details of a design that defined American pocket change during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Struck in 90 percent silver, each of these coins contains approximately 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse of the quarter displays a proud profile of Liberty. She wears a traditional Phrygian cap, a classic laurel wreath resting upon her head, and a headband inscribed with the word LIBERTY. Surrounding her portrait are thirteen stars, with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST positioned above and the date 1911 below. On the reverse, a majestic eagle dominates the design with its wings fully spread. A protective shield covers the bird's chest, while its talons grasp both an olive branch of peace and a bundle of arrows. In its beak, the eagle holds a ribbon bearing the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination QUARTER DOLLAR frame this intricate heraldic scene.
