1911-D Barber Half Dollar Fine

0.3575 troy oz .900 1911 Fine

Struck in 90 percent silver at the Denver Mint, this 1911 half dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. Designed by Charles Barber, the coin is a testament to early twentieth-century artistic traditions, carrying a total silver content of 0.3575 troy ounces. The obverse showcases Lady Liberty facing right, adorned with a laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap. The motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed along the upper border, while the date 1911 rests below her portrait. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle stands with outstretched wings, protecting a shield on its chest. In its beak, the eagle holds a banner inscribed with "E PLURIBUS UNUM". Its talons grasp both an olive branch and a cluster of arrows, representing peace and readiness. The Denver mint mark, a distinct letter D, is positioned below the eagle, just above the face value of "HALF DOLLAR".
