The 1911-D Barber half dollar represents a classic era of United States silver coinage. Minted in Denver, this fifty-cent piece is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.3575 troy ounces of the precious metal. It survives today in Very Good condition, showing the honest wear of a coin that circulated actively in the early twentieth century. Designed by Charles Barber, the obverse of the coin presents a solemn portrait of Lady Liberty. She wears a traditional Phrygian cap adorned with a laurel wreath, with the word LIBERTY clearly visible on her headband. The motto IN GOD WE TRUST arches above her head, while the year 1911 is stamped below. The reverse displays a heraldic eagle with its wings spread wide. A protective shield covers the eagle's chest, and its beak clasps a banner bearing the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. In its talons, the eagle holds both an olive branch and a cluster of arrows, symbolizing a desire for peace alongside a readiness for defense. The Denver mint mark, D, is positioned below the eagle, just above the denomination HALF DOLLAR.
