0.1788 troy oz .900 1911 Very Good

Struck at the Denver Mint in 1911, this twenty-five cent silver piece represents a classic era of United States coinage. The coin is composed of 90% silver, containing approximately 0.17875 troy ounces of precious metal. Having circulated through early twentieth-century commerce, it remains a fascinating specimen of the long-running Barber series. The obverse design, created by Charles Barber, displays a dignified portrait of Lady Liberty. She is depicted facing right, adorned with a traditional laurel wreath and a Phrygian cap. Above her head, the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is clearly inscribed, with the year 1911 anchored at the bottom. On the reverse, a powerful heraldic eagle commands attention with its wings spread wide. A protective shield rests upon the eagle's chest, while its talons grasp an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, representing peace and readiness. In its beak, the eagle holds a decorative banner, all encircled by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "QUARTER DOLLAR".
