Struck in the early twentieth century, this 1911 ten cent piece represents a classic era of United States coinage. Minted at the San Francisco facility, this silver dime is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. It survives today in a Very Fine state of preservation, displaying the clear details of its century-old artistry. Designed by Charles Barber, the obverse of the coin features a dignified portrait of Lady Liberty. She is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with a laurel wreath, with her headband clearly displaying the inscription of the word Liberty. Surrounding her profile are the words United States of America and the 1911 date of manufacture. The reverse of the coin centers on the face value of One Dime. This denomination is framed by a detailed, traditional wreath that encircles the text, creating a balanced and elegant design that defined American pocket change during the Pre-1933 era.
