1911-S Barber Half Dollar Fine

0.3575 troy oz .900 1911 Fine

Struck in the early twentieth century, this 1911 half dollar from the San Francisco Mint represents a classic era of United States silver coinage. Composed of 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. It survives today in Fine condition, showing honest wear that tells the story of its time in active circulation. The obverse showcases a dignified profile of Lady Liberty. Her head is adorned with a Phrygian cap and a traditional laurel wreath, surrounded by the stars of the union and the national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST. The year of manufacture, 1911, is clearly anchored at the bottom of the design. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle commands attention with its wings spread wide. A protective shield rests against its chest, while its beak clasps a ribbon inscribed with E PLURIBUS UNUM. In its talons, the eagle grips both an olive branch of peace and a cluster of arrows, symbolizing strength. The mint mark S is positioned below the eagle, identifying its origin at the San Francisco facility.
