Struck in 1811, this silver quarter dollar showcases the enduring artistry of Charles Barber. Minted in San Francisco, the coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.1788 troy ounces of precious metal. Even with the soft wear of its Almost Good condition, the foundational elements of this classic American design remain visible, carrying the story of a bygone era of circulating coinage. The obverse presents a profile of Lady Liberty. She is depicted wearing a traditional laurel wreath over a Phrygian cap, a classic symbol of freedom. Above her image, the national motto of trust is inscribed, while the year 1911 is anchored at the bottom. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle commands attention with its wings spread wide. A protective shield is positioned across its chest. In its beak, the eagle grasps a flowing banner, while its talons hold both an olive branch of peace and a cluster of arrows, representing strength and defense.
