This 1912 half dollar offers a tangible connection to the early twentieth century. Struck in 90% silver, the coin contains 0.3575 troy ounces of precious metal. As a heavily circulated piece graded in Good condition, its surfaces display significant wear, with the outer rims showing signs of blending into the design, telling the story of its long journey through everyday commerce. The obverse side, created by designer Charles Barber, showcases Lady Liberty facing right. She wears a traditional Phrygian cap underneath a laurel wreath, with the date 1912 visible below her portrait. The motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is positioned above her head. On the reverse, a heraldic eagle stretches its wings wide, protecting a shield on its chest. In its beak, the eagle holds a ribbon bearing the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM". Its talons grasp a branch of olive and a bundle of arrows, representing peace and readiness.
