Struck at the Denver Mint in 1912, this ten-cent piece offers a remarkable window into early twentieth-century American coinage. Composed of 90 percent silver, the dime contains 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. Having survived more than a century in Almost Uncirculated condition, it retains much of the original detail that makes this era of coinage so compelling to study. The obverse showcases a classical depiction of Lady Liberty, envisioned by designer Charles Barber. She is portrayed in profile, wearing a traditional Phrygian cap adorned with a laurel wreath. Surrounding her portrait is the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, with the year 1912 anchored at the bottom. On the reverse, the coin displays its denomination, ONE DIME, encircled by a detailed wreath of agricultural elements. Directly below the wreath, the small "D" mintmark identifies this piece as a product of the Denver facility, distinguishing it from its Philadelphia, San Francisco, and New Orleans counterparts.
