The year 1912 saw the Denver Mint strike this silver ten-cent piece, a classic representative of the Barber coinage era. Created by Charles Barber, this dime is minted from 90% silver, containing 0.0715 troy ounces of the precious metal. It represents a time when silver coins circulated daily in the pockets of everyday Americans. The obverse of the coin displays a profile of Lady Liberty. She is depicted wearing a traditional Phrygian cap and a laurel wreath, surrounded by the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the date 1912. In this Good to Very Good condition, the design shows honest wear from its time in circulation, meaning the word Liberty is no longer visible on her headband, though a full rim remains present on this side. On the reverse, a detailed wreath encircles the denomination ONE DIME. The Denver mint mark, a small D, is located at the bottom of the design. Because of its historical journey through commerce, the rim on the reverse side may appear slightly weak in some areas, telling the story of a coin that truly served its purpose in early twentieth-century America.
